Andrew's been harvesting a little something from the garden every day for the last week or so -- at least a cherry tomato or two, and zucchinis on a good day. We've even got a few eggplants (which are doing much better this year for some unknown reason).
Things should start ramping up soon though. While Andrew doesn't seem to care much for the zucchinis, squash and eggplants, he definitely recognizes the apples and pears and he doesn't seem to believe us when we tell him it'll be better if he waits till they're ripe. We also have a lot of tomatoes (Andrew's favorite) that are sitting on the vine, green but full of promise.
The corn are now over 6 feet tall, and we can see the ears, but I'm not sure how we'll know when they're done. The first time we try planting something is always a guessing game. Is it big enough yet? Will it get bigger/sweeter/yummier if we wait? Last year we waited way too long with the broccoli rabe and it was just tough and stringy.
I can't take much credit for the bounty though. Charity's mom is the one with the green thumb and if it weren't for her I'm sure our garden would look very different indeed.
He is just adorable. His face hasn't changed at all. I could still just eat him up.
